A devastating hurricane that hit the Cayman Islands in 2004 was the inspiration behind Cayman Sea Salt. The company’s founders recognised the importance of developing local products, so that the island could be more self-sustaining and less reliant on imported products. Their sea salt farm opened in 2005 and through solar evaporation their product was created.
